![]() It has a larger variety of zeds and you encounter hordes far more frequently than l4d, but maybe on the same level as bfb, just more difficult in a lot of cases(fucking flesh pounds and scrakes as a firebug) They all have specific weaknesses, some explosions, some bullets, some fire, and some electricity. there's a semi-unique mechanic with welding doors shut, enabling you to effectively create choke points within the map, or make an escape route. Killing floor 2 has more of a wave based survival aspect to it, there are SOME objective maps that feature semi linear objectives, but these are just the survival maps with a few extra objectives in them, and you can still freely roam the map. Left 4 dead is mainly linear, slight branching path based on RNG, and (some) survival maps.īack 4 blood is that, but minus the slight altering of maps due to RNG, and has more of a "character" focus, with deck building that determines what you're effective at, and has more weapons with attachments(actually based on RNG that drastically affect their effectiveness, and you can suffer max health penalties for not healing damage, to balance this out you can typically take more damage than you can in left 4 dead, and there are boss battles. If the issue is, you guys are tired of L4D2 because it's too old and are looking for something else that is similar gameplay, I would recommend Vermintide 2 over B4B. Just more of an example of how it was really VALVE that made L4D and L4D2 such great games, and not Turtle Rock. B4B does not, and they have stated they never intend to. Countless fan-made maps, weapons, skins, and other assets to prolong the life of the game. Both L4D2 and KF2 have a vibrant and long-established stable of mods to spice up the game and customize it to be more of what you want. Not everybody agrees with me on that, so YMMV.Īnd finally, and perhaps most importantly - B4B does not support mods. It's just a way of trivializing your strategic thinking. You're building characters (or rather, perks) along the way.ī4B tried to get some of that going with their deckbuilding mechanic, but there's always been too much RNG in deckbuilding games for my taste. KF2 still has the "working your way up to a better gun every game" mechanic, but also a long term XP leveling system that improves the base stats of your character and gives them special passive abilities - so it has a bit of skinner box, er, excuse me, "RPG mechanic" going in that regard. You won't win KF2 by racing to an objective and slamming a door, but the enemies WILL run out of guys to throw at you.Īdditionally, Traditional L4D (and its clones) didn't have much in the way of character progression, other than by finding "better" guns along the way, but it's very easy to get your favored weapon rather quickly. In L4D, most times you can take multiple routes to your objective, you can be stealthy or overt, etc, whereas KF2 is a straight up you-vs-them fight to the death. It's a non-linear arena combat game with waves of enemies and a much more aggressive/high stress play style. KF2 however, isn't really the same genre/experience. L4D2 still beats the pants off B4B, so if you want that experience, I recommend L4D2. Open the file that says PCServer-KFGame.B4B is an inferior version of L4D, first of all. Go to the Killing Floor 2 folder -> KFGame -> Config ![]() Changing the server settings is easy as most are in just one file: I don't know all of them so my tip here: Smash all your keys and you're going to end up eventually opening the console. ![]() Different keyboards have different locations, for example on the Portuguese the console key is the ç, UK is `, US is ~ EDIT: Whoever game me Gold, you're amazing, thank you □ If you have any questions or need help just ask and I will gladly try to help out □ Made specifically for a couple of friends who just got the game for free from EPIC and couldn't play together so it's extremely rushed (45 minutes of rushed work for a 4 min explanation video), I apologize in advance if anything is not decently explained :/ I tried to make it as quick and clear as possible. This is just a quick tutorial on creating a server and how to join. ![]()
